What started as a council called by the Roman emperor to reckon with the false teaching of a rogue bishop quickly became one of the most important events in the history of the church. From this council came the Nicene Creed — the first and only truly ecumenical creed — received by the entire church around the globe and throughout history, proclaiming the foundations of the faith once for all delivered to the church.
This semester, Spring 2026, we will be exploring our Christian heritage through our Discipleship Class — the Nicene Creed, Foundations of the Christian Faith. Join us to learn the foundations of what we believe, why we believe it, and how it makes sense of the world.
To guide us through the Creed, we will be reading The Nicene Creed : An Introduction by Philip Cary. We would love for you to journey through the Creed with us, so come by for our class and pick up a free copy of the book. We are excited to see you there.
