Immediately following worship this Sunday, November 20 - you are invited to fellowship with us. MDUMC will host its first Bluegrass Marketplace from 12 - 2:00 on the MDUMC Front Lawn. What is a Bluegrass Marketplace, anyways? It’s basically a marketplace, with a bluegrass band… go figure. Other than that, it’s a big post-church party on the front lawn (pumpkin patch) where you can fulfill all of your Thanksgiving shopping needs! The kitchen will be selling (cash & check only) fresh produce, holiday pies, frozen entrees, and we’ll even have a knife sharpener out there to get you ready for the big meal. Come enjoy a beautiful afternoon with us, take in some live entertainment, and plan to have some hot BBQ off the smoker!

Many of our neighbors to the north, east, and west of us are in the midst of battling horrific grass fires. Thousands of acres have been consumed including hundreds of homes. Thousands of people have been evacuated, and schools have been closed until further notice.

There is no doubt that many of you are wondering how you can help and what the needs are. Here are a couple of ways everyone can help! In contacting some of the nearby Sheriff's Departments and Fire Departments, we've determined that we can best be of assistance in Waller County. We will accept cases of water and monetary contributions with which we can purchase cases of bottled water that will be delivered to firefighters, emergency workers, and volunteers working at the scene. Water will be delivered this week to the Waller County Sheriff's Dept. in Hempstead.

If you choose to purchase water, please drop off the cases in the gym by Thursday of this week. Signs will be posted telling you where to leave them.

If you choose to make a pledge, please email one of the three staff members below as soon as possible with the amount of your pledge. With the total amount pledged, we will purchase additional water and deliver it expeditiously. Make checks payable to MDUMC. Please note "Fire Fund" in the memo, and mail them to:
