Help Relieve Fire Victims
Many of our neighbors to the north, east, and west of us are in the midst of battling horrific grass fires. Thousands of acres have been consumed including hundreds of homes. Thousands of people have been evacuated, and schools have been closed until further notice.
There is no doubt that many of you are wondering how you can help and what the needs are. Here are a couple of ways everyone can help! In contacting some of the nearby Sheriff's Departments and Fire Departments, we've determined that we can best be of assistance in Waller County. We will accept cases of water and monetary contributions with which we can purchase cases of bottled water that will be delivered to firefighters, emergency workers, and volunteers working at the scene. Water will be delivered this week to the Waller County Sheriff's Dept. in Hempstead.
If you choose to purchase water, please drop off the cases in the gym by Thursday of this week. Signs will be posted telling you where to leave them.
If you choose to make a pledge, please email one of the three staff members below as soon as possible with the amount of your pledge. With the total amount pledged, we will purchase additional water and deliver it expeditiously. Make checks payable to MDUMC. Please note "Fire Fund" in the memo, and mail them to:
